At Ecosafe Group, we are committed to delivering high-quality construction and maintenance. Believing homes should be fully accessible and safe for everyone. That is why we partnered with Magna Housing for a disabled adaptation project at Richmond Court, Sherborne, improving accessibility, while bringing residents together for a festive coffee morning.

Disabled adaptation works at Richmond Court, Sherborne

A key focus of our adaptation works was ensuring safe and independent mobility for residents with accessibility needs. Our team:

  • Removed overgrown shrubs.

  • Laid a new accessible path.

  • Enabled a resident to reach her scooter safely.

These small changes make a huge difference to everyday mobility and independence. With these improvements, residents are able to move freely and safely around their homes.

Chloe, Compliance Manager at Magna Housing, shared why social value in housing projects is so significant:

“Any contracts we place at Magna always look at the social value element—what can they give back to our communities? That’s why we’re here with our partners at Ecosafe today, giving back.”

A festive coffee morning for residents

While some of our team worked on external accessibility improvements, others joined forces with Magna Housing to host a community coffee morning inside Richmond Court. The event gave residents the chance to:

  • Enjoy hot drinks, cakes, and mince pies.

  • Have their Christmas presents wrapped by our team.

  • Win one of four festive hampers in a free raffle.

  • Socialise and meet neighbours they had not seen before.

As part of our commitment to social value, we also delivered a branded Ecosafe tote bag to each property, which contained:

  • A handwritten Christmas card.

  • A festive selection box.

  • A token of appreciation, ensuring every resident felt valued.

Pam and Joseline, two residents at Richmond Court, shared their thoughts on the morning:

“It was such a lovely event. We don’t have many social occasions like this, and it gave us the chance to meet neighbours we hadn’t seen before. Everyone was helping each other - it was just a really special morning.”

Building stronger communities through social value

At Ecosafe Group, we understand that construction projects should leave a lasting impact on the quality of the work and the communities they serve. The Richmond Court accessibility work and community events are perfect examples of how we integrate social value into our projects.

The residents have already invited us back next year, and we are looking forward to continuing our social value initiatives with Magna Housing and other housing providers across the UK.
